Click. The camera in his hands beeped to signal that it had grabbed a picture of the beautiful sunset before him and he smiled, looking at the flames in the sky on the camera's display. The smile tugged for only another moment before it faded and he lifted the camera back up to his face, playing with the zoom controls as he turned toward the academy and watched it in complete silence. He scanned over the windows and the main entrance. He felt like he creeping on people, but in reality he was just looking for something that caught his eye. Roman loved to take pictures, of people, of scenery, of anything. He could usually be found out by the pond taking pictures around the shore and walking around the water in silence. But today he had decided that the gate, with it's forbidding appearance, would lift his spirits somehow.
He spun on his heel, turning back to look up at the gate. The boy took a single step back, his eyes focused down onto the camera in his hands as he changed the settings from color to black and white. He lifted up the camera again, clutching the lens with his left hand and adjusting the zoom. He waited there, frozen in his work until he found the perfect scene. He held his breath and pressed the button down until the camera beeped. He pulled it away and smiled to himself. He quite enjoyed his camera. Just as much as he loved his guitar and how much he loved playing piano. He often went into the music room after the teacher had gone and he sat in there playing and writing music for hours and hours on end. It was funny because he was so good at music, it was like his release. It was important to him, and so that was what he had become used to.
With a soft smile, Roman moved away from the gate. He had no interest in leaving the academy's gates. They were what kept him and his sister's safe from his cousin. And he quite enjoyed taking his sisters out of that environment. He walked up to the academy, the camera put away safely into his case. He pulled the door open and waved toward the woman behind the counter. I will be going back out. I want to go get my guitar. The woman nodded and left the sign in and sign out sheet right where it was, turning back to her computer. Roman hurried up to his dorm where he deposited his camera on his bed safely and then bent to slide his guitar case out from under his bed. He lifted it up and waved good-bye to one of his room-mates and then left the dorm. He began down the stairs, lifting the guitar up so it wouldn't bounce off of each of the stairs.
