i was tossing and turning and the nightmare i had was as bad as can be
IT SCARED ME OUT OF MY WITS !a corpse falling to bits then i opened my eyesThe sun was setting down over the horizon and for once the man found the ability to breathe easily. He hated this city, hated the place he lived in. There were too many women, and while a lot of them were definitely the kind he could deal with for a few hours of fun, there were still the ones that got clingy and close. And he hated getting close. Four hundred and sixty years, and he hadn't gotten close to anyone after his mother. He didn't intend to again either. His mother was a worthless bitch who left her only son because she couldn't handle being left. She abandoned her son in their small apartment for a week before anyone noticed that he hadn't been there. Maybe that was where his bitterness stemmed from.
A smirk touched his face, it wasn't a handsome one or a beautiful one. It was what he was. It was a monsters smile, a terrible one that was only ever showed to strike fear into the heart of the one it was given to. Avalon was dark, his spirit was tainted and torn. And he had been that away for over four hundred years. He had been able to watch the world flash by around him. He lived his nights with a different companion, one that filled his lost but never his heart because he had always managed to keep it closed off. That was the way he liked it. Avalon viewed himself as a stranger in the midst of a city like this. He lived in this place now because he needed to move, to hide himself from the people of France that he had once befriended.
That was the worst part about living a life. You could live where you wanted only for so long, once you were aging at the age of a vampire you were only ever able to live in that place for maybe six years. While it often gave him a reason to travel the world, it was a long life, and one that he sometimes wondered when he would be called up to the slate and when he would be put to an end. That was what he wondered. He spent his quiet hours alone in his head, tugging apart a woman at her seams, disapproving of the species around him, and most of all, thinking where he would go to next. When things didn't seem like they would be able to change for the better, that was when he started to realize that he didn't care. When he dug himself so far down into the pit that he could hardly think anymore. And once again, he just didn't care.
AND THE NIGHTMARE WAS ME !
